In real life Achenar is only 37.3 million years old and unlikely to have all but the very most basic life, never mind sentient.
To put things in context, multicellular life on Earth is about 600-800 million years old, and only arrived after bacteria and cyanobacteria had 2500-3500 million years to form a biosphere and oxygen atmosphere.
Cool story though.
