Every saved edit creates a revision visible through the page history, subject to visibility restrictions. Use the page history action to compare revisions, review edit summaries, identify contributors and inspect earlier content. A comparison shows changes between selected revisions; it does not automatically restore either revision.
When checking a problem, compare the relevant revisions rather than assuming the latest contributor introduced it. Page history is also part of the attribution record for imported and locally edited content. See Help:Reverting and Project:Copyrights.
