From Elite Dangerous Wiki

The Vulture has a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, the power-plant is slightly less than adequate to make this ship *totally awesome and unbeatable* - there simply isn't enough power to satisfy the desires of most players - there's always a trade-off when outfitting. Secondly, this ship might have awesome shield capability but once depleated it is *very* vulnerable to kinetic weapon attack, because no matter how much hull reinforcement or upgraded alloys you have fitted they will eat through your hull like a hot knife through butter.

So, the Vulture is a great attack craft with some good benefits, but it also has great drawbacks. You think this ship hurts the game? Fly one and lose it a dozen times, then you'll experience for yourself just how fragile it is under certain circumstances and in the wrong situation. Plus, you stated that no more than a week of playing will allow you to gain the credits to buy it. Yet if you go to a RES in a noob Sidewinder it's possible you could have the credits to buy this ship in hours, not days.
