I disagree. You can have an AspX kitted out for deep core mining for something like half the cost - and the AspX will be MUCH faster and more agile, a better view, only hold 8 tons less, runs one less collector limpet, and has slightly better shields. Also has grossly better jump range.
All the Dropship has on it is 8 tons more cargo capacity, 3 collector limpets instead of 2, more armor, and about 40% higher firepower if jumped. I did some builds in EDSY to compare, because I went back and picked up all the Fed ships on discount, and am at a loss what to do with the Dropship; there are better ships for roughly the same price in all roles.
