I got the Cutter pretty much as soon as i could. You people keep referring to it as a whale but i promise you it is more like a tank. The best shields in the game by a huge amount, chuck on some shield boosters and cells and you can take one hell of a beating. I was taking out npc wings of 3 fed gunships and assault ships with little worry. I just put a large laser in place of the huge and couple that with another 2 large lasers and your choice of med multicannons or lasers and you absolutely wreck ships, big and small. Sure it turns horribly but if it didnt it would be an op ship in my opinion.
Im currently rank 9 in the federation because i want to try the corvette out, no matter what ill respect the cutter.
