Transport and passenger missions need a serious nerf right now (3.2). It's possible within a day to get the factions on a single planet to like you, then be allowed to run missions totally out of your Elite rating and make 40-50 million credits an hour easy, with just a medium sized ship.
There isn't much point in doing anything else in the mission board when it's like this.
