Shield Projector
A deployable device that generates a barrier designed to absorb incoming impacts.

The Shield Projector is a handheld item that creates a temporary forcefield bubble around where the grenade lands.[1] The bubble is spherical, about 4 meters in diameter, with the grenade in it's center. It blocks most types of weapon fire from entering the bubble. It disappears after 15 seconds even when not damaged.
From outside in the barrier blocks:
- laser weapons fire
- bullets
- plasma weapons fire
- rocket launcher projectiles - They impact the barrier and explode on the outside
From inside out it blocks:
- rocket launcher projectiles - They impact the barrier and explode inside the bubble, damaging everybody inside the bubble !
You can stand protected inside the bubble and shoot out with almost all Handheld Weapons.
Hand grenades are not blocked by the barrier and can be thrown out of the bubble, into it or through it.
The gravity of a planet can affect a Shield Projector's trajectory when it is thrown.[2] When thrown inside a megaship or space station without a gravity, it flies in a straight line.
It costs 2,000 Credits. NPCs do not use it. It was added in ED: Odyssey.
