Mining Volley Repeater

The Mining Volley Repeater is a hardpoint module used in mining. It is a new laser mining tool that is capable of extracting more fragments from asteroids with a chance to extract higher density chunks.[1] It works like combination of a Mining Laser and an Abrasion Blaster, designed to scrape resource fragments from, and remove Surface Deposits off of, the surfaces of asteroids, allowing them to be collected using the Cargo Scoop or Collector Limpets.[2] A Refinery is required to process the fragments and cargo space is required to store the material in Commodity form.

This module is exclusive to the Type-11 Prospector and the Anaconda Mk II.[2]

Notes

  • The Mining Volley Repeater was introduced in v4.2.1.0 with the release of the Type-11 Prospector ship on 29 September 2025.[1]
  • The Mining Volley Repeater - in addition to mining normally - generates a bonus 10 tons of minerals as 'Deposit Fragments'(as opposed to 'Fragments'). These bonus chunks are subdivided proportionately based on the rock mineral percentages.
  • It pulls about 46 fragments a minute, compared to medium mining lasers which do about 25.1 fragments per minute. Even though this is slower than two medium lasers, the fragment bonus makes up the difference.[3]
  • If combined with mining lasers, those lasers will not get a fragment bonus. The combination reduces the overall fragments from a rock by some amount.[4]
  • The Anaconda Mk II can use 2 Mining Volley Repeaters.
