Mass Prison Breakout Reported at EVE-597 Reformatory

File:News Image War.png

The Independent Detention Foundation had admitted a significant breakout attempt took place aboard prison ship EVE-597.

A large number of prisoners have left the Riker-class reformatory via escape pods during the breakout. Journalists in Redonesses have reported that the Clan of Redonesses criminal faction is attempting to help the prisoners avoid recapture. It is believed the prisoners controlling EVE-597 chose the system specifically as the controlling faction is sympathetic to their cause.

The Foundation has put out a call for independent pilots to subdue criminal pilots in the system while security forces track down escaped convicts.

"These prisoners are our responsibility," a Foundation spokesperson said. "We would rather recover them alive, and it is safer for everyone if the criminal pilots trying to prevent convict recapture are dealt with."

Pilots willing to engage in combat duties should register at the Sword of Iustitia before handing in bonds. Template:GalNetLinks

Prison Ship Break Subdued in Redonesses

File:Community News Feed 23.png

The Independent Detention Foundation has thanked independent pilots who protected convict recovery efforts in the Redonesses system.

EVE-597 is back under Foundation control and all convicts on board been secured. Local system security also reported that the vast majority of escaped prisoners had been recovered and returned to custody.

A spokesperson for the Independent Detention Foundation confirmed that The Wallglass Investigations Agency had been appointed to establish how prisoners aboard the Riker-class prison ship were able to breach their cells in large numbers.

"Initial investigations have recovered partial telemetry from EVE-597's comms array. The breakout appeared to have been coordinated with support from inside the ship." Wallglass detective Eric Gunnarson said in a press statement to Vox Galactica. “It is too early to confirm whether the megaship's security data had been disclosed to a third party before the incident took place. However, it is one avenue we are actively exploring.”

The Independent Detention Foundation stated that it would cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation, and the EVE-597 will resume its normal jump itinerary as soon as possible. Template:GalNetLinks

Brewer Corporation’s Carrier Jump Satellite Plans

File:News Image fleet carriers 3.png

Brewer Corporation is manufacturing what it calls 'jump satellites' to enable more fleet carriers to target a system with no planetary bodies.

Under existing circumstances, only one fleet carrier can remain stationary in a system of this type, preventing other carriers from targeting and continuing their journey.

"It's especially problematic for explorers in the furthest reaches of the galaxy where star density is at its lowest," remarked Brewer Corporation CEO Madelyn Teague in an interview with Vox Galactica.

"Brewer engineers successfully tested a significant modification to existing beacon amplification. Our prototypes were successful in mimicking the planetary body signal used by fleet carrier jump computers, helping carrier crews safely traverse to a location without a planet or moon present."

Teague's statement concluded with a call to action for independent pilots to deliver certain commodities to ensure the first batch of jump satellites is ready on time.

"With enough of the necessary components, we can deploy jump satellites to fleet carrier bottlenecks around Rackham’s Peak."

Interested pilots should head to the megaship Zero Squared in the HIP 74116 system. Template:GalNetLinks

Three Prisoners Missing Following Recent Breakout

File:Community News Feed 9.png

The Independent Detention Foundation has confirmed that three maximum security prisoners evaded recapture following the breakout in Redonesses.

Despite system authority attempts to elicit information from the Clan of Redonesses faction, the whereabouts of the three fugitives remains unclear.

A spokesperson for The Independent Detention Foundation confirmed to Vox Galactica that all three are high-ranking pirate leaders convicted of complex, repeated large-scale criminal activities.

“The individuals in question were recently incarcerated at the EVE-597 reformatory because it was the only ship capable of holding them. It’s clear that the prisoner uprising was a smokescreen for their planned extraction.”

Wallglass Investigations have also released the names of the missing prisoners: Gunther Bernhardt, Yaz Murano, and Trey Coombes. They have issued further information to system authorities and warned pilots not to approach if located.

“All three should be considered armed and exceptionally dangerous,” said detective Erik Gunnarson. “Any information on their current whereabouts should be immediately reported to your nearest security contact.” Template:GalNetLinks

Brewer Corp Jump Satellite Initiative Hailed a Success

File:News Image fleet carriers 1.png

Independent pilots rallied to provide Brewer Corp with the necessary commodities to release its new 'jump satellites' on schedule.

The hardware - a highly modified version of the nav beacon - emits a signal which fleet carrier computers can target, avoiding bottlenecks in systems where no planetary bodies are present.

"We're extremely grateful for the support and the number of supplied commodities received," said Madelyn Teague, CEO of Brewer Corporation.

"Our factories are now working hard to put the new satellites into service with the correct signal calibration settings."

Transmitting to Vox Galactica from the outpost at Rackham's Peak in HIP 58832, Zachary Rackham welcomed the initiative and thanked those taking part, stating that "it was about time that Brewer solved this problem that prevented more visitors arriving at the very top of the galaxy!"

Brewer confirmed that the new jump satellites will begin deployment to the HD 105341 system in the near future, expanding carrier capacity close to Rackham’s Peak.

Contributing pilots can now collect their rewards at the megaship Zero Squared in the HIP 74116 system. Template:GalNetLinks

Faulcon DeLacy Announces Anaconda Mk II

File:Faulcon DeLacy Announces Anaconda Mk II.png

Faulcon DeLacy has announced the first major revision of the Anaconda ship model since its introduction in 2856.

Expanding on its predecessor’s multi-purpose capabilities, the Anaconda Mk II prioritises exceptional versatility and was described as “one of our finest large ships” by Chief of Design Frank Endis:

“We took the opportunity to hone the original Anaconda’s advantages as a flexible, general-purpose option. Pilots will be able to equip their Mk II as a credible trading, mining, or combat choice whenever needed at any port with outfitting bays.”

“It still excels as a large exploration vessel as well, of course! Our design focus was on making sure all potential roles were treated with equal attention.”

The Anaconda Mk II comes with an SCO-optimised FSD, a Size 6 optional internal slot, and Mk II armour slots and optimised hardpoint that can mount the new ‘mining volley repeater’ - a multi-barrel excavation tool used for laser mining which uses random sequencing to produce abrasion chunks.

The Anaconda Mk II is immediately available as an early-release purchase and will later transition to wider shipyard availability. Template:GalNetLinks

Faulcon DeLacy Plans Anaconda Mk II Field Trials

File:News Image Station.png

A quadruple-focus initiative has been launched aiming to test the improved capabilities of the recently announced Anaconda Mk II.

To help celebrate the release of the new ship, Faulcon DeLacy has partnered with several organisations to track various ship performance data for comparison with the Anaconda Mk II. Independent pilots are invited to put the new vessel through its paces across mining, trading, combat and exploration.

Frank Endis, Chief of Design commented in a statement issued to Vox Galactica that “most new ship launches focus on testing one or two new capabilities, but the Anaconda has always proven itself as an all-round vessel.”

“It makes sense to put it through its paces against everything that it can do.”

Pilots are invited to support the Anaconda Mk II’s launch by registering at HD 232819, AD Leonis, Reorte and HR 8061 before taking up one or more initiatives. While any vessel can be used to provide comparative data, the Anaconda Mk II’'s performance is of particular interest to analysts.
