A combat ship's maneouverability is judged completely differently deoending on how you learned to fly. My bounty hunting career went from Vulture to Dropship to Gunship to python to type 10 and finally an anaconda, so i learned how to fly very large and slow ships to the point that when i got a conda i was blown away by how maneouverable it was. Fighting in a light ship like the vulture or fer de lance depends more on not being in the line of fire of the enemy and trying to keep yourself in a safe position while still firing at the opponent. In a heavy ship you have to learn how to keep the opponent from getting into blind spots and also learning to notice that they are about to fly behind your line of fire and turn your ship around before that happens so that they fly themselves into your new line of sight. So maneouverability is used in different ways in different ships.
