This used to be a good supplement to a laser/multicannon loadout, to cause that bit more damage to hull and modules.

Honestly though, missiles are better at that now, although cannons are still much cheaper to run and will last you much longer for extended warzone fights.

Watch out for PvP aces packing a whole grid of these things though. In terms of sheer DPS, they'll outclass any other loadout except railguns and plasma accelerators, and don't have the problems with heat.
