Imperial Eagle
Template:Quote The Imperial Eagle is a ship manufactured by Gutamaya for the Imperial Navy. Introduced in 3199 as an Imperial variant of the Core Dynamics Eagle MkII multi-role fighter,[1] the Imperial Eagle has more speed, durability, and firepower than the original, but these enhancements come at the cost of agility and handling.[2] This has resulted in a more specialised combat vessel that the Imperial Navy and its allied fleets have primarily deployed as an interceptor. Unlike other Imperial ships, the Imperial Eagle does not require any rank in the Imperial Navy to purchase.
Overview
The Imperial Eagle boasts superior armour and shield strength in addition to one medium Hardpoint replacing one of the three small hardpoints on the regular Eagle MkII, however it is not as maneuverable as the original Eagle MkII. It is one of the fastest ships in the game; in fact, with Enhanced Performance Thrusters and Engineering, it may have the highest potential normal-space speed of any currently available ship.
The weapon hardpoints are located as follows: a single medium hardpoint on the top of the ship behind the cockpit and two small hardpoints mounted side-by-side on the underside of the main fuselage in front of the bump that contains the cargo scoop.
