Really depends on the way you fly. If you fly it more like a plane using rotations a lot more than lateral/vertical trusters and go forward, and joust, then stay with beams. But if you use lateral and vertical thrusters a lot more, and don't always fly forward, then go with beams as you will stay on your targets all day.
