My Courier has a bit over 500MJ shield (thermal resist mod, and 2 resistance boosters, one with +30% boost intead of 20 thanks to a secondary effect), and a boost speed ot 570m /s with dirty enhanced thrusters. I've rigged it as a cheap PvP ship and it's great fun to fly.
