No. Vultures aren't nearly as good as they used to be in a fight. They can't take out ships quickly, they can't mass lock much, and they can't even keep up if they try to run. They don't have the fuel capacity to loiter long, they don't have the jump range to follow, they don't have the slots or power to effectively make use of helpful modules...

Basically, just.... no.
