I *was* in agreement with your sentiment a few weeks ago, and then I started my Empire rank grind-fest doing planetary assault, rescue, & salvage missions in HIP 10716.  There, all you time is spent on 1 planet.... (not sure what it's gravity is at the moment), but I went nuts trying to find what I felt was the ideal ship for knocking as many missions as I could (before the bugged ones prematurely failed that is), to me... the ideal ship for this would be one with close to 20T cargo
