Well since common sense edits are being reverted in lieu of personal opinion, I'll just post my undone edit here: don't listen to JazHaz, the Python is a perfectly acceptable mining ship. It can attain the largest cargo capacity of any ship capable of landing at outposts while still being able to be outfitted quite well (two medium mining lasers leaving three large hard points for weapons). If maneuverability is the hallmark of a good ship, then anything below a 6 (wihch is what the Python is rated at) are all garbage and shouldn't be considered for anything. (I'm looking at you, Type 9. You have a big fat goose egg of 0 while the Cutter can fit more cargo with a rating of 2.)

Basing good mining on maneuverability doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The asteroids aren't clanging around like in Star Wars or Star Fox. In fact their position relative to their parent (gas giant, star, etc.) doesn't change at all. Their only movement is rotational. Basing on maneuverability also doesn't make sense when you consider mining is based on volume of cargo.
