I was in a medium Resource Extraction Site shooting npc's to make credits.  

I shot a Sidewinder NPC that was "Wanted" and listed as Dangerous.   Upon the destruction of the Sidewinder I noticed I got a "Wanted"  indicator over my Fuel indicator.

I have missed something along the way or perhaps its a bug.   Being new I don't know which at this point.   

Can someone explain why I might have gotten a bounty placed on me for destroying that particular NPC?

p.s. I removed the "Wanted" myself upon exisiting a station slowly and hoping the local police would scan me.  They did destroyed my ship.    Nevertheless still wondering why I received the bounty upon destroying a "wanted" npc.<ac_metadata title="Wanted NPC, leads to "Wanted/Bounty" on player."> </ac_metadata>
