On Xbox One, I've had zero problems with the docking computer crashing me into anything or being unreliable. Generally it can dock reasonably fast, without any collisions at all. I wouldn't recommend it if you really want the extra module, but if you're multitasking and tired of doing the same tedious docking maneuver again and again, go for it.
