The Clippers speed makes it very fun at all times, and lets you dictate a battle's terms..   Class 7 slot is good for cheap but powerful 7D shields, and still plenty of slots for other upgrades.

For trading, all ships are the same speed on supercruise;  but the Imp Clipper is way faster in/out of space stations.  However, the Python can land on medium pads (i.e. outposts)..

In all cases, if you're used to a fully upgraded Clipper, a partially upgraded Python will not be satisfying..  If it takes 100M to usefullly max out (with armor) a Clipper, it's 200M for the Python to do the same..
