Anyone posting about this should have experience not documents. I use my Clipper solely for combat with an A6 Shield and 2x A3 shield cell banks. It's absolutely more potent than the vulture because it's double the hard points. So you're killing twice as fast the things that can do that much damage. It's also completely A graded out with 2x C3/G BEAMS. With no power or heat issues. I don't even carry heat sinks unless traveling.

As far as the 51 million dollar A7 shield it was every bit as durable as the python c6 shields I tested extensively and even recharged faster. Same with the A6- much faster recharge. But it also weighed so much that I would "drift" for 5 km when trying to do a 180 lol. So the agility of A6 is much better. (40t lighter if I remember right)

It seems the "lower" the base shield score the faster they charge regardless of class, rating, and pips.

I use chaff and point defence so I've never tested the boosters. Though maybe I should.

Right now in the Zaonce defence I've been using an FDL with A4 Plasma Accelerator and it definitely takes the cake for shield strength by a long shot compared to Clipper and python, but I'd much rather have 2 large and 2 medium hard points personally.

And the Clipper is a boss at pitch and yaw as long as it's fully upgraded the right way, don't listen to fools who think stats do justification. The Clipper can out maneuver a python any day of the week and I know because I spent a LONG time trying to use the python because it's better in every other way. But sadly I got rid of it because I don't want 5 hard points that have to be turreted so a flock of "splatters" or "slime finders" or "smeagles" don't wipe you out.
