I'd say to do normal commodity trading at Type-6 instead of rares (if you have traded such). Find a high-tech system, either argiculture/high-tech or high-tech with something else. Then find a nearby extraction or argiculture/extraction system and see if there are any good commodities to trade there. It's also recommended not to be in systems too populated
