In order to try an Anaconda and test it out, you can test all the ships in a BETA for 100 CR per ship. However, if you're not a Beta backer you won't be able to test the ship.

Personally I bought the Anaconda just to try it during Wing's Beta, the ship is big and slow but the huge hardpoint and multiple hardpoints makes it a ship killing machine. Using beam laser turrets on all hardpoints it can shoot ships behind and in front as long as the ships in the area are hostile. Bear in mind when friendlies are flying with you, you won't be able to see behind your ship and you might shoot friendly ships with turrets without you knowing it.

I recommend the Python for a more agile approach. And for trading, a T9 works superb.
