Find the pole of whatever you are mining, and angle yourself so that you have a fixed point on the surface facing you, with the only movement relative to you being a clockwise/ACW rotation. Then let 'er rip. All canisters will be in one line, with a gentle arc to the trajectory from the spin. Easy peasy.
