The Hull Seals are the galaxy's premier hull repair and rescue specialists.[1] They are a squadron and player minor faction.[2][3] They are volunteers dedicated to rescuing stranded pilots by repairing critical hull damage, fixing broken canopies of ships, and recovering stuck vehicles throughout the galaxy.[2]
Overview
The Hull Seals was founded in 3305 (2019 CE). The Fleet Carrier HSRC Limpet's Call is their de-facto base of operations. Many Seal CMDRs have also adopted Sagittarius A* and Stuemeae FG-Y d7561 as their home system.
In 2020, the Hull Seals conducted the The Long Arf expedition.[4]
Squadron & minor faction
The Hull Seals is an independent squadron with around 89 members.[2] The related player minor faction is also called The Hull Seals.[3] The government is a theocracy.[3] Their allegiance is independent, and they originate from Jenu.[3] They are present in 54 star systems with around 2,454,738,087 residents.[3]
Services
Primarily, Seals travel across deep space and populated systems to offer hull repair and recovery services for ships and vehicles to stranded pilots.
- Emergency Hull Repairs: they repair heavily damaged ship hulls with Repair Limpet Controllers.
- Canopy Rescues: they assist pilots who have lost their cockpit canopy and are running low on life support.
- SRV Extractions: they help rescue players whose vehicles or vessels get stuck on planetary surfaces.
How They Operate
The Hull Seals provide free, galaxy-wide emergency assistance to prevent players from losing exploration data or facing a ship destruction (rebuy) screen. This is quite similar to the Fuel Rats who rescue players out of fuel.
The Hull Seals utilize high-jump-range exploration ships and advanced routing tools like neutron star plotters to cross thousands of light-years in hours to reach a client out in the desolate regions of space.
