A Carrier is a type of Capital Ship specifically designed to transport smaller ships. Carriers are very large with hundreds or thousands of crew members.

The Harmony, a Flight Operations Carrier

NPC-operated Carriers have few or no weapons of their own. When deployed as a part of a military fleet, they rely on warships to escort and protect them.

Player-operated Fleet Carriers are protected by a complement of Station Defence Turrets, easily capable of destroying even the most heavily engineered ships.

Types

Fleet Carrier

Drake-Class Carrier

The Drake-Class Carrier serves as a mobile base of operations with 16 Landing Pads to accommodate a fleet of conventional ships. It can only be purchased and operated by players. The owner of this enormous vessel can customize it for specific roles by enabling various services and functions.

Squadron Carrier

Javelin-Class Carrier

The Javelin-Class Carrier is designed as a base of operations for Squadrons. It can only be purchased and operated by players. It has similar functionality as a Drake-Class Carrier, but more than double the cargo capacity, 32 landing pads and additional management options.

Flight Operations Carrier

The Flight Operations Carrier is a Megaship class like the Wells-class Carrier. It has five Landing Pads. This Megaship is often stationary and acts as a small station once it arrives at the destination. (It can't be purchased or operated by players.)

The Gnosis is a rare example of a Flight Operations Carrier that is indirectly controlled by player group and frequently jumps between systems.
