Boost Speed

Boost speed is the speed a ship travels when the boost function is activated. This accelerates the ship's thrusters past it's normal capabilities. Boost is useful for that extra bit of speed and maneuverability when you need it, like when pursuing a fleeing target, or escaping from danger yourself.

The maximum boost speed of a ship can only be achieved by pressing the boost button.

Boost speed cannot be engaged until the engine capacitor has enough energy. With upgraded equipment a ship can boost more often and often times reach faster speeds while boosting. Different ships have different maximum boost speeds, currently ranging from 200 to 500 m/s.
