The Alliance continue to refine their warships in the face of the looming Thargoid threat. The Alliance Challenger, envisaged as a frontline combat vessel, has stronger armour than its Chieftain counterpart and will be able to soak up a significant amount of punishment.

The Alliance Challenger is a variant of the Alliance Chieftain manufactured by Lakon Spaceways for the Alliance in response to the Thargoid threat.[1] Capitalizing on the Chieftain's strengths, the Challenger boasts enhanced specifications in the form of additional weapon hardpoints, more durable armour, and slightly increased manoeuvrability.[2]
Trivia
- The Challenger is the third ship to be manufactured by Lakon for the Alliance; after the Alliance Chieftain and Type-10 Defender.
- The Challenger is the first and only upgraded variant of another ship to have increased manoeurability.
