Article notices should help editors identify a specific problem. Place a page-wide notice at the top of the article, before the infobox and opening paragraph. Remove it when the problem has been resolved; use a section-specific notice only where that template supports one.

More citations needed

Use Template:Refimprove when an article has some sources but important statements still need citations. It is not a substitute for adding a source yourself.

What to type

{{Refimprove}}

What it produces (example):

An optional first parameter preserves an editor's note. For example:

{{Refimprove|The ship specifications need a source.}}

This adds the note to the notice. Keep it short and factual.

No sources

Use Template:Unreferenced when the article does not cite any sources at all. Put it at the beginning of the article. Do not use it on an article that already has citations; consider the more-citations notice above instead.

What to type

{{Unreferenced}}

What it produces (example):

Creating a custom article notice

Template:Ambox supports both the wiki's imported border, type and info parameters and Wikipedia-style message-box parameters. Prefer an existing specific notice where possible.

What to type

{{Ambox|border=orange|type=Short description of the issue.|info=What an editor can do to resolve it.}}

What it produces (example):

See the main template guide for general advice. Examples on this page are demonstrations, not assessments of this guide.
