no offence, but: I wouldn't ever accept missions, where I do not know, where to get that stuff from in advance. Some "buy some [not all that common] commodity" I do make an exception for (e.g. Palladium; you never quite know the amounts actually available, even with outside tools), if the price is really good, other than that: nope!

That's why I'd suggest, always taking "bring" and "messenger" quests first, when trying to get a hold of the surroundings of your current "home system" (they kind of help you learn your surroundings), THEN take on the often more lucrative "fetch" quests.
