I mean, the PRC is a terrible place to live, even though it is entirely capitalistic in nature. There's an old Russian joke about the PRC, it goes like this,  "Russia, China, and the US are in a car and come to a turn. Russia says, 'I like Communsim, so I'll signal left!' The USA says, 'I like Capitalism, so I'll signal right!' China says, 'I like Capitalism and Communism, so I'll signal left and turn right!'."
