As to cooking itself whilst turning, I have to mention I've had a similar experience in the Dolphin, Orca, AND Imperial Courier, but never had this issue with literally any other ship, including the Type-7 (even though it's notorious for overheating in general.)  For some reason Imperial ships just have heat spikes during sharp turns that literally no other ships have.

That said, I just got my Clipper (tyvm to the guy who posted the comments on the Imperial Ranks page, btw!) and despite this, I'm still loving it.  Even though it's not strictly better than my Krait Phantom, I just plain like this thing.  I shouldn't.  At all.  But I absolutely do.

Damn, I think I'm turning into an Imperial fanboy.  Send help.
