I'm just engineering those small points with thermal vent beams to help manage the heat from my Imperial Hammers in the medium slots.  The Vette and Cutter were both nerfed significantly from their initial concept... I'd really love to be able to field two SLFs instead of one.  I think if you're willing to pay the additional pilot his or her cut, you should be able to use him or her.
