Democracy is a failed system of government, as proven time and again.  People are too stupid to vote for the interests of the country, and too ignorant to even realize their own interests.  Having the corporations manipulating the voters into allowing them nearly unlimited control of the government for their own financial interests is the most logical outcome in accordance with human nature... as the vast majority of humans have short attention spans and watch reality TV.
