This must be based on the British ideals of Conservative and Liberal, because in America the terms are reversed.  Down to the numbers reversed, in fact.  In Britain the Conservatives receive the lion's share of wealthy people's votes and contributions and cooperation.  In America it's the liberals.  The good guys always lose, and the bad guys are all too happy to project their own flaws onto them.
