Maybe this would work: put only turret burst/pulse lasers on every hardpoint. Then engineer the lasers with "efficient" so the thermal load is minimized. Then engineer everything to mininimize the heat. Then just make extremely fast turns around your target and hit it :-) Would be irritating as hell I guess.
