This special effect is only useful if you update all of your weapons with this effect (Which means you have a laser only setup) and primary fight in pvp, because nps ships have other heat mechanics then real players and so it doesn't effect them much. I've tested this special effect several times and its definetly not worth the damage reduction, especially if you fight primary in pve. There are a lot better options, for example Auto-Loader & Corrosive Shells (MC only) or Scramble Spectrum (Lasers)
