To me it would make more sense if the ships DID have artificial gravity.. Would explain their designs as well as why stuff that isn't tied down/magnitized isn't floating around :P For instance in the krait mk2 there is a magicial cookie that is somehow sitting by the coffee maker in zero g... not floating around just sitting there lol
