I would agree with you about 99% of this.  The one thing I will say is that having a single corrosive MC is a good idea when using Class 1 cannons.  Why?  Because the armor piercing on class 1 weapons is so low.  However, with the combination of class 1 cannons and a single class 1 corrosive MC (for example, 2 cannons and 1 MC on an Eagle) your AP goes up enough to pierce ships like the DBX, where it otherwise wouldn't.

And if you put High Yield on the cannons, every single shot is going to damage multiple modules.  You can do insane amounts of damage to internals this way.
