That all sounds interesting except for the "concealed bridge."  Busting a canopy is an important part of the game so having a ship with no canopy would be horribly unbalanced as it's one of the fastest ways to win a dogfight or force an otherwise stronger opponent to retreat.

I mean, if the canopy just gets painted opaque with the rest of the ship, that'd be fine, but there needs to be one for balance reasons.
