Now that I think of it, what exactly was the point of incorporating guardian tech into the fighter? Does it have some sort of special ability that helps against thargoids?

I mean damn, if it doesn't, then they could have easily made the exact same fighter by modifying a regular fighter. Just remove a hardpoint and as much armor as possible, then slap on an extra thruster and ask Aisling Duval to give you her prismatic shields.
