I have a pilot I've had with me since Harmless and he's now at the same rating as me, Master (!!) and I don't want to get rid of him, but the grind to get to Dangerous never seems to end with him on helping me. 

I'd like to know if you still have to share your combat experience gains with pilots if they are inactive, or active but simply not used.

Nobody seems to know however.
