That is welcome news. I could run a class 5 shield and a class FSD booster, leaving the 4 class six internal slots for passengers.
The Beluga still has 2 issues that keep it from being a ship worth buying.
The Beluga is still the only ship in the game that can't equip a shield that is optimized for it's hull mass. A class 7 internal or a drop in hull mass would fix this issue.
The other issue is the most important one. Luxury passenger missions don't pay noticably more than first class. With sightseeing missions in particular it seems number of passengers, distance, and number of locations to visit have a far greater impact on mission payout than the class of passenger. Which means a mission with a large group of economy class passengers pays out more than the same mission with 8(the maximum) luxury passengers. Until luxury passenger missions pay significantly more than other types, the Beluga is not the best choice for this role. The AspX, Python and especially the Anaconda (though at a higher price) are a better choice.
Another annoyance is that the Beluga can be mass locked by ships with a lower hull mass. Most notably a Python.
