That sounds like a comment someone who never used a fighter bay would make. With an AI, a fighter bay is the equivalent of having a fighting-ready Cobra helping you out. With a crew, you have the equivalent of having a modded eagle with you, basically this sole feature is overcompensating for all the lacking stats and weaponry he doesn't have.  In short, this ship is designed for multicrew purpose principally, if your goal is the fly solo weapons blazing and not bother with giving instructions or having friends with you, forget about this and get a Chieftain.
