Probably to get the best acceleration rate is to target the fartest object in system and when you reach the speed you want you change the target. The difficult in this approach is the system map doest not show the direction and alignment of planets in their relative orbital position but basically just the distance from the sun, possibly except in binary systems, as you can start go to opposite of your  real target with this method.
