Help:Maintenance template removal
Maintenance notices identify an editing problem. Read the notice, its documentation and any linked discussion before deciding whether to remove it. Follow Project:Responsible tagging.
Resolve the stated problem
For missing sources, add evidence for the affected statements and check that the citations support them. For unclear wording, revise the passage. For a factual or neutrality dispute, address the specific objection on the article talk page. Replacing one notice with another does not resolve the underlying issue.
Remove a resolved notice
Edit the page and remove the relevant template call, including its parameters, without deleting the surrounding article text. If a notice is inside a multiple-issues box, remove only the resolved issue. Preview the result and explain the correction in your edit summary.
When editors disagree
Explain why a notice is unsupported, obsolete or resolved and invite a specific response. Do not repeatedly remove and restore it. Follow Project:Dispute and the existing response periods in Project:User Conduct Rules. A deletion, protection or administrative notice can represent an ongoing process; consult the relevant local policy and administrator rather than treating it as an ordinary cleanup tag.
