Before you edit

Choose a page whose subject and scope you understand. Use the page's edit or edit source control; availability can depend on your account and page protection. You may edit the whole page or, where offered, one section at a time. If you are unsure whether a change belongs in an article, raise it on that page's discussion page first.

Changing wikitext

Preserve useful structure, citations and attribution. Make the smallest clear change that solves the problem. A few common examples are:

''italic'' and '''bold'''
[[Page title|link text]]
== Section heading ==
* A list item

Use the preview to check links, formatting, templates and references before saving. Previewing does not save the page. For citation practice, see Project:Citing sources. For files, see Help:Files.

Describe and review your edit

Enter a concise edit summary that says what changed, such as Corrected the station's system name. Do not use a summary to start a personal argument or include sensitive information. Mark an edit minor only when it makes no meaningful change to the page's content; see Help:Minor edit. After saving, check the rendered page and, if needed, compare the change in the page history. If another editor saved while you were working, see Help:Edit conflict.
