Template:Please check ISBN
| Template documentation follows |
|---|
| Note: the template above may sometimes be partially or fully invisible. |
| Visit "Template:Please check ISBN/doc" to edit its documentation if it is available. (How does this work?) |
 | This template should not be used in citation templates such as Citation Style 1 and Citation Style 2, because it includes markup that will pollute the COinS metadata they produce; see Wikipedia:COinS. |
Usage
This template is used to mark an International Standard Book Number that may not be valid. Example:
{{ISBN|1-897311-56-7}}{{Please check ISBN}}
The template does not produce any visible change to the article:
Rather, it adds the article to Category:Articles with invalid ISBNs.
Parameters
The optional parameter |reason= simply provides a comment to explain why the ISBN may not be valid. Example:
{{ISBN|1-897311-56-7}}{{Please check ISBN|reason=Check digit (7) does not correspond to calculated figure.}}
