Help:Purge
What purging does
A purge asks MediaWiki to refresh the cached rendering of a page. It can help when a page still shows an older rendering after a template, transcluded page or other dependency has changed. Purging does not edit the page, alter its revision history, or necessarily update every search index, external cache or derived list.
Request a purge
If the page tools provide a purge control, use it and follow any confirmation screen. Depending on the site's URL format, a purge request may also be made by adding ?action=purge to the page URL, or &action=purge when the URL already has a query string. For example: https://example.org/wiki/Page?action=purge. Use the local wiki's actual address; do not copy the example host. A confirmation is a safeguard, so check the page name before proceeding.
If the display is still stale
Reload the page and check the underlying source and dependencies. A purge is not a fix for incorrect wikitext, a broken template or an unavailable extension. If the problem persists, provide maintainers with the page title, what changed and what remains outdated. Do not repeatedly purge unrelated pages.
