These templates describe policies, guidance and navigation in the Elite Dangerous Wiki project namespace. A notice identifies a page's purpose; it does not establish new rules or grant permissions.

Template or guide	Use
Policy	Read its local documentation before using it to describe an adopted local policy. Check Project:Policies and guidelines for the distinction between policy and guidance.
Essay	Identify advice or opinion; an essay does not override local policy.
Shortcut	Display established shortcut titles. Create a meaningful redirect before advertising it as an existing route.
Template guide	Choose and document a template for a local editing task.

Use Project:Consensus and the affected page's discussion page for proposals. The Community Portal is the local directory for wider wiki work. Imported labels do not create a village-pump service, committee or formal project here.
